We lucked out finding (http://abnb.me/EVmg/NsvVrvUegG) a place run by Brett, Sayako and their little boy Ren. They greeted us at the train station and bent over backwards during our stay: making us feel welcome, helping us with our Japanese language, informing us about the local area, taking us to the beach on bikes, and providing little touches like fresh figs and wild flowers from their garden. They have decorated their house so beautifully, we were sorry to have not stayed longer to enjoy this peaceful country location! During our sojourn we swam in the Inland Sea and cycled, via a ferry ride, to the wonderful island-turned-art-museum of Naoshima. In (warm) pouring rain and thunder, we cycled around the entire island, appreciating the art installations and museums dotted about. One of our best days out!
